How long does Amersham to Gatwick Airport take?
In very clear traffic, Amersham to Gatwick can be around an hour, but we allow more time when planning an airport departure.
The fastest map estimate isn’t a sensible basis for deciding when to leave for a flight.
From Amersham, our normal route heads towards the M40 before joining the M25. Once on the M25, there’s a long motorway section before reaching the Leatherhead and Reigate side of the journey.
Traffic around the M4 and M3 connections, followed by the Surrey section of the M25, can change considerably between an early-morning run and a weekday peak-time journey. A route that looks clear when the car leaves Amersham can be very different forty minutes later.
For early flights, traffic is often lighter, but the pickup still needs to leave enough time for check-in and the terminal drop-off. During busier parts of the day, we build more margin into the collection time rather than assuming the motorway will continue moving at the speed shown when the journey starts.

We don’t commit blindly to one final set of roads simply because that’s what a map suggested when the journey started. Conditions are checked as the car progresses, particularly before leaving the M25 for the final run towards Gatwick.
That’s the practical difference between looking at a route on a screen and planning an airport journey around a flight.

Gatwick North or South Terminal
Gatwick has separate North and South Terminals, so we confirm the correct terminal when the booking is made.
For departures, the driver takes you to the designated terminal drop-off area, with luggage unloaded as close to the departures entrance as the airport arrangements allow.
If your airline or terminal changes before the journey, let us know and we’ll update the booking.

Gatwick Airport to Amersham
The return journey is handled differently because the collection time depends on what actually happens with your flight.
We monitor your inbound flight and adjust the collection around the actual arrival rather than expecting you to contact us from the aircraft.
